Four Fun Upcoming Charity 5K Races in PA
- Support all your fluffy friends at the dog-friendly Metropolitan Veterinary Associates’ 5K on May 12th. This charity 5K supports the Paws of Promise Foundation, helping pet owners with significant financial need pay for their pets’ treatment. This race takes place in Norristown, PA. Runners and walkers with leashed pets are welcome!
- This Father’s Day, you have an opportunity to run in the Kevin A. Brue Melanoma Awareness 5K in Point Pleasant, NJ. This race features a certified course, live music, and a bike giveaway. There will awards for First Place Dad, top three overall male and female, and awards by age group. Funds raised will go towards various rotary charities and community organizations that fight melanoma.
- Check out the Summer Solstice Race on June 23rd in Newtown, NJ. Located in Kittatinny Valley State Park, you can choose to run a 5-mile trail or a 5K trail. This race supports the Sussex County Women’s Forum, a non-profit organization that assists women affected by cancer diagnosis. One-hundred percent of the entrance fees go toward providing free mammograms! Keep an eye on the Friend to Friend mammogram program because they have more great trail runs planned for the fall.
- One more for the dogs! The pet-friendly Run for the Pines for Canines 5K in Forked River, NJ, takes place on October 26th. You and your favorite jogging buddy can join the Associated Humane Society in supporting Popcorn Park Zoo, a “sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.” There are awards for top three overall male and female and awards by age group. Most importantly, there are even awards for the top five good boys and good girls.
