What’s better than one 5K race in a beautiful place? TWO 5K races in a beautiful place in one weekend! Join us for the Sussex County Double Header Race Weekend on May 6th and 7th.
Race 1: Race to the Top of NJ
First up is the 5K Race to the Top of NJ. This is arguably one of the toughest 5Ks in New Jersey. And it’s definitely the highest! Race to the Top of NJ will take up to the highest point in New Jersey, 1803 feet above sea level. You will race up paved, traffic-free roads to the High Point Monument. Take in the beautiful panoramic views of New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania before racing back down along Lake Marcia to the finish line.
During this fun and unforgettable course, not only will the views leave you breathless; so will the run uphill! Challenge yourself while supporting two great organizations in Sussex County, Pass It Along and Norwescap
Race 2: Creative Rush 5K
After pushing yourself on Saturday, why not treat yourself to a run through completely closed forest roads in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area on Sunday? The Creative Rush 5K is hosted by and in support of the Peters Valley School of Craft. The race kicks off the Annual Open House & Studio Tours Event, which starts immediately after the race and runs until 4pm.
The event features live music, hands-on activities, and studio tours with live demonstrations from professional artists. Peters Valley School of Craft has studios in 8 disciplines: Blacksmithing, Ceramics, Fiber Surface Design, Fiber Structure, Fine Metals, Photography, Special Topics and Woodworking. In addition to touring the studios, you will have the opportunity to support local artists as they sell their work. And before you head home, make sure to vote for your favorite local school (public or private) because the winning school will receive a free Craftsmen at Work program!
This Double Header Race Weekend is Brought to You by SpectaSport
When we realized that we were timing two races in the same county in the same weekend, we thought it might be fun to combine the two. We introduced the two races and told them what we were thinking. They loved the idea! They decided to join forces, market it together, and make it one big weekend!
And SpectaSport couldn’t be more excited to be timing this never-before-seen race weekend!
